My Arabic creative engagement with calligraphy and words is profoundly rooted in the desire to manipulate letters and words, lines and forms, space and color, depth and perspective. Whether working with ink or painting, mixed media or installation, i devote myself to both the conceptual and the graphic qualities of letters, words and texts. On the canvas, I do not think about what I want to paint . I do not do a sketch before. I totally rely on letters visual poetry.By orchestrating them in painting, I’m just trying to create a space in which they appear, they exist by themselves and give life to the canvas.Creating a modern abstract language of signs : ‘Al Horoufia’ : (lettrism) or Calligraffiti. No matter how it is called the essential is that it gives birth to an ‘Artistic Language’.
